Getting
Tickets For The 2008 Olympic Games
Another phase of Ticket Applications
for the Beijing 2008 Games has been completed in February
2008. This domestic phase was intended to process
applications for 1.8 million tickets but applications
for about 4m tickets were received and the lottery
process is underway.
Overseas sales are now progressing
through the local Olympic Committees and many countries
have contacted the organisers for additional tickets
- for instance Finland was allocated 10,000 tickets
initially but on request a further 2,000 tickets have
been allowed to Finland.
In the United States, Phase I and
Phase 2 ticket sales for the Beijing Olympics 2008
have been successfully completed and confirmations
issued. The Phase 3 has commenced since March 31st
2008. Tickets are available at this
website but you'll see that for many of
the sports and sessions the red SOLD OUT sign is there.
However, if you search around you'll find some available
for the less popular sports. The alternative is to
book a package with accommodation, flights and tickets
together.
The Beijing Olympics Ticket sales
have exceeded all expectations and at this stage the
place to look is your local Olympic Committee website
or some of the many providers of package holidays
to Beijing for the Olympic Games with tickets included
in the package..
Not surprisingly the opening and closing
ceremony tickets were in the most demand. After several
lottery phases, all ticets for these events are now
sold.
More information on ticket sales is
available on Beijing
2008 Tickets Application site.
